We are the only United Methodist Church in Arcadia, Louisiana. We have about 250 members.
There are two Worship Services each Sunday. We have a Contemprary Service at 10:00am and our Traditional Worship is at 11:00am.
Our Contemporary Service, New Way, is at 10:00am in our Fellowship Hall. Dress is casual; there is a continental breakfast served 15 minutes before worship. We have a terrific band -- Rita Moak on keyboard, Lee Locke on the drums, Dan Madden on guitar and Susanne Madden, lead singer.
Our Traditional Service is at 11:00am in our Sanctuary upstairs. Martha Callender is our organist; Norma Simpkins is our choir director and pianist. Our Sanctuary was built in the 1920's and is a beautiful place to worship.
Our youth group, the United Methodist Youth Fellowship, meets each Sunday at 5:30pm. This group consists of young people in the 6-12 grades. The youth directors are Kristi Huffstetler and Janet Blackwell. We are very happy to have them on board for our youth group.
Recently, we have had two new Sunday School Classes that have started up. Both are for adults; there is a Young Adult Class, "Faithful Friends," that meets in the parlor at 11:00AM and the other new class is also for adults and is called the "New Life" Class. Mary Smart is the teacher.
"Walk Through the Bible" is the other study and it meets on Wednesday nights at 6:00pm in Old Fellowship Hall.It is taught by Rev. Jayne Trammell-Kelly. This Bible Study will continue through October.
New seekers are welcome at all of our classes. We hope that you will come and join us in worship!
Come visit when you are in our area. We love having visitors.
